About This Policy Area
Recipient rights policies govern the fundamental rights of individuals receiving mental health services under the Michigan Mental Health Code. These policies establish the obligations of network providers to ensure that every person served is fully informed of their rights, treated with dignity and respect, and protected from any form of abuse, neglect, or exploitation throughout the course of their care.
Providers are required to maintain clear grievance and appeals procedures, support access to a Rights Advisor, and uphold each recipient's right to receive services in the least restrictive environment appropriate to their needs. Compliance with these policies is essential to maintaining Northpointe's provider network standards and ensuring the well-being of all individuals served.
